As we are still contemplating whether to shoot in black and white OR dress the models in black and white I felt i should research current S/S10 current trends by looking through the collections.... I got these images from style.com. It's a great website if you ever need to reference the catwalk or look at current trend reports...

French Vogue October 2009

These are pictures which were taken from the October 2009 issue of French Vogue, which features Dutch model Lara Stone in what has been called Contemporary Blackface. Quite interesting concept considering 'race' and thinking outside the box. Whether some people might take offence to this, I feel it means to push boundaries and achieved a very intriguing concept...

V magazine

V magazine did some amazing black and white photos of Cameron Diaz... very striking images, good stong poses and well styled. Simple yet effective...

A little re-think...

Ok after our last meeting we decided it was best not to over complicate things and go back to a basic idea and then possibly bring the race idea into it at a later date. There are some stunning fashion based black and white photos which we started to look at and get inspired by...

Helmut Newton's photos are very inspiring and he has done some amazing black and white photos in his time which has influenced many photographers and designers..

DOMINOS!

OK. so our new brief if fairly broad and we can take it where ever we want which is quite exciting...From all the the brown paper wrapped objects, we picked a box of Dominos. Pretty cool object I thought has a lot of scope and we can play about with loads of ideas....

Im just going to put up some ideas and inspiration...

Today our group met and these are some loose ideas we jotted down:

*Black and white photography > shoot in black and white or dress model in black and white

* Spots > polka dots

*Look at David Lachapelle

> old people playing dominos.. something quite quirky?

*Bounty hunter > action shoot

* Have a number of different models with various hair colours

*Have black and white models > wearing only coloured masks

* Look at Benetton adverts photographer Toscani > controversial images quite interesting

*Raw, seedy, Terry Richardson, Corinne Day style shoot

* We could have one black girl and one white guy and show shots of scenes start off holding hands (do the close up black and white hand shot possibly) and then get more graphic almost like documentary style..
